My friend Tony and I had a lot of fun doing the Bangkok Podcast, but as I’ve written here before, it was a surprising amount of work to put together a weekly 1-hour show. Scheduling guests, booking studio time, lugging equimpment around, editing…it took its toll, especially when both of us had other full-time gigs to deal with. As they do, things change – Tony moved to Japan, I got married and started working on a handful of new projects – but now with the magic ot technology, we’re both pretty happy to say that Bangkok Podcast has returned! Although in a slightly different format.
Starting with the first new show – embedded below – we’ll be doing a monthly summary of some of the wacky things that go on in this gloriously obtuse city. We’ll probably keep things a bit shorter – 30-45 minutes – and probably won’t have too many guests. But, we’ve teamed up with Coconuts Bangkok, the city’s newest news and reviews website, which will let us know which story is getting the most traction in the news. We’ll also be doing some random plugs, and a few more surprises along the way. You may also notice a cool new reworking of our theme by my thinner, younger twin – and former podcast guest – DJ Octo (who has his own podcast that’s definitely worth checking out if you’re into the nightlife side of things).
Since we’ve switched over to Soundcloud for hosting, you can listen to the podcast from any website that embeds it. Go ahead – click below! Also, don’t forget to check out our sponsor for the next few shows, the fantastic Bangkok Treehouse, run by the nicest guy in Phrapradaeng, Mr. Joey. Tune in next month for our second regular show, and ever month after that. See you then!
Yoohoo…BP is back…I'm so excited…It may sound wired after this long, I was looking at my RSS feeds the other day and it had a long list of subscriptions, so decided to unsubscribe which have not been updated for a long time and when i reached bangkok podcast RSS, somehow i got the feeling that it would be back..so kept it as it is and voila…its back
Welcome Back Guy's ,Truly missed your Insightful input into life in Thailand.
Hoping that you create some Great interviews with forthcoming Guests &
continued success in All areas…Maybe one day you'll return to full strength!
Not saying that there is anything wrong with the new theme, but the old one was pretty awesome. Bring the old one back!
Thanks for the feedback Liam, it's appreciated! The old one was indeed awesome, but the new one brings a bit more of a chilled out feeling to the proceedings. No better or worse, just different. But who knows what the future will bring, maybe we'll change it to a Led Zeppelin song? 🙂
